and I still don't know
what was on your mind,
when the bullet struck,
or if you felt any pain
before you fell
and the world went dark
if there was some sort of peace...
though I've heard it's difficult
to sleep when covered in blood.
but I know now
how precious and fragile a thought can be
when just seconds are the difference
between life and death.
I don't know
if you saw any lights,
or some other kind of angel
coming down for you
I often wonder if you spoke before you died:
your voice is the only part of you
that the world could not chain,
so I'll hold on to the fading
echoes of your words
for as long as I can.
but I know now
what separates sympathy
empathy and pity
and that being sorry for a loss
doesn't make anything better
it never did or will.
I don't know

Black Keys and Gold Strings
You've only been gone for ten hours
And I should probably get some sleep
But I keep thinking of things I wish I'd told you
Like the silent piano that washed ashore a thousand miles away
and how I'll never touch it before the ocean takes it back
In ten hours,
it could be gone forever
and I'll still be here dreaming of beaches strewn with abandoned music wire
and lover's kisses dried on cheeks,
begging to be forgotten

the last time I was in a chapel
I got a nosebleed
at the start of
when peace like a river
I don’t get nosebleeds
I took it as a sign
I retreat inside my skin
not because it’s safer
but because I know this temple
was built to withstand the
burning spirit that inhabits it
these windows shatterproof
these walls flame resistant
at home
I make my own stained-glass
busted mirror —pools of silver
crimson-dipped fractals
of my busted fist repeated
my mother always said
I had too much fire in me
I am a fire sign after all
what did she expect
I contain it within myself
no, I try
when I open my mouth
embers erupt
I catch them smoldering
between my teeth
you said my demons
do not scare you
but I am also not
afraid of the lion
flashing those brilliant teeth
meant to rip skin
& tear away red meat
while I stand securely
on the other side
of the laminated safety glass
that divides us
when your pause stretches
to absence I imagine your
hands drawn together
palm to palm soot-sme

This is a sunflower that I drew on my arm using nontoxic markers and pens.
Random sketch
I used a blue pen, pencil, and red and orange paint pens.
Sketch Book pg.1
Just a drawing I did in government. I did this completely free hand with Crayola markers.

while drawing for me is a technically hobby it is also a form of therapy and expression. Despite my love for drawing it is easy to convince myself that my work is irrelevant and there is no reason to continue. from now on I am going to draw every day and hopefully improve and gain confidence In the long run. Constructive criticism is completely welcome.

Thanks for stopping by. - Inviziblegirl
